they say that at night he didn’t do anything but cry.
they say he didn’t eat and didn’t do anything but drink.
they swear that heaven shuddered when it heard his cry,
how he suffered for her, calling out to her even as he died.
ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, he sang.
ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, he wept.
ay, ay, ay, ay, ay, he sang.
as he died of mortal passion.
that a sad dove came that morning to sing to him,
to the small house with its windows open wide.
they swear that the dove is nothing less than his soul,
that is still waiting for her to come back, her, the unfortunate.
cucurrucucu, dove,
cucurrucucu, don’t cry.
the stones never do, dove,
what do they know of love?
many friends made contacts wondering if i was alright after hearing about the sao paulo plane crash. thanks for your concerns. i’m safe and sound. on a different note, expect a lot of photos from brazil. tchau.
apple’s 2007 world wide developer conference is happening this week. it’s the biggest event of its kind and apple usually makes the big announcement of the year.
i had the opportunity to attend the last two year’s conference through apple’s student developer scholarship program. deep inside i wanted to be there at this year’s conference but i gained what i needed at the conference (as a student) and it would be fair for other students to be given the opportunity to experience the thrill of wwdc.
here are the things that i’m missing from the last two year’s conference (and they are in no particular order):
staying at hostel and meeting foreigners.
walking to the conference ever morning through up and down hills of san francisco (and sometimes cutting through china town).
attending the keynote and watching steve jobs in his jeans and turtle neck.
meeting apple engineers one on one (i think the font team was getting tired of me).
meeting mac developers from around the world.
meeting student mac developers from around the world (often talk arrogantly about their developments).
attending sessions and workshops.
watching apple’s cool slide shows at the sessions and listening to hip music before and after each session.
late night labs (best time to meet and network with other developers).
playing video games on wide apple screens at lunch time (often playing cool games that haven’t been released yet).
attending the one day student session (pre-conference).
attending career fair.
having lots of refreshments before and after each session.
stump the exports (the fun part of the conference).
apple campus bash (one of the best experience of the entire conference a.k.a party time).
shopping at the apple’s employee store at cupertino (prepare to be in the line for a long time).
taking picture by the infinite loop sign.
walking back from the conference and stopping by the apple store at downtown san francisco (almost a nightly habit).
getting cool apple t-shirts, bags, etc. (expect people to stop you on the street and ask you where you got them from).
last but not the least, coming back home full of energy, excitement ,and motivation to network and develop with and for the mac community.
